Air-Operated 55-Gallon Drum Pumps

Drum pumps are used for convenient and swift transfer of fluids from barrels, tanks, drums, and intermediate bulk containers (IBCs). Drum pumps are especially useful for transferring fluid from containers that are too heavy to drain manually e.g. by tipping.

Air-operated Drum pumps utilize compressed air to transfer light to viscous fluids from containers significantly faster suction rates than traditional suction devices.

What industries can utilize All-Flo drum pumps?

Air-operated drum pumpscan be used for convenient transfer fluids in a wide range of industries. Our pumps can quickly and efficiently drain barrels used in different industrial applications including:

  • Paint & coating
  • Manufacturing
  • Food processing
  • Metal finishing
  • Automotive
  • Oil & gas

What fluids can air-operated drum pumps handle?

Different industries use various kinds of fluids in their operations including viscous oils, lubricants, fluids with solids, and solvents, to name a few. Drum pumps are fabricated with varying materials of construction for chemical compatibility with the fluid for transfer.

All-Flo 55-Gallon Drum Pumps

55 Gallon Drum Pump Kits

Our drum pump kits are designed for swift and leak-free transfer of fluids from 55-gallon drums. Each kit comes with a 40-inch tube and a bung adaptor for the 2-inch bung opening present on standard 55-gallon drums.

What AODD Pumps Do We Recommend for Drum Pumping?

Drum kits are available for all ¼”, 3/8”, ½”, and 1” All-Flo pumps. However, we’ve narrowed it down to show you a couple of our top selling pumps that are used primarily for drum pumping:

55 gal drum pump

3/8” Plastic AODD Pump –  C038 – 9 GPM (34 lpm)

A 3/8-inch, lightweight drum pump constructed with Conductive Nylon, Polypropylene, or PVDF in the fluid end and Glass Filled Polypropylene in the air end. Diaphragms are available in Geolast®, PTFE, or Santoprene®. The pump requires a ¼-inch air inlet connection. Maximum pressure is 120 psi (8.2 bar). The pump has a maximum flow rate of 9 gpm (34.0 lpm). Drum pump kits are available for this model that feature a 40-inch suction tube and bung adapter separately.

55 gal drum pump 1/2 in.

1/2” Plastic AODD Pump –  A050 – 17 GPM (64.6 lpm)

A ½-inch drum pump constructed with Conductive Nylon, Polypropylene, or PVDF in the fluid end and Glass Filled Polypropylene in the air end. Diaphragms are available in Geolast®, PTFE, Santoprene®, or Viton® / FKM.  This pump requires a ½-inch air inlet connection. Maximum pressure 120 psi (8.2 bar). The pump has a maximum flow rate of 17gpm (64.6 lpm). Drum pump kits are available for this model that feature a 40-inch suction tube and bung adapter separately.

Why Choose All-Flo drum pumps

With considerably faster suction rates than traditional pumps, All-Flo’s 55-gallon drum pumps can emptya barrel of fluid in minutes. Our air-driven drum pumps are also relatively cheaper than motor-driven pumps from some of our competitors.

Choosing your drum pumps – materials of construction

All-Flo offers a range of air-operated drum pumps with different materials of construction – ensuring that there is a suitable pump for every application, regardless of the nature of fluid for transfer.

Note: Before choosing a pump for a particular application, you should be aware of its chemical compatibility with the fluid for transfer. Please consult our chemical database for specific chemical compatibility with our products.
